Sledding & Tubing Day Trips
While the ground may not be covered in snow down here in Everett, the mountains up above have an abundance of the powdery stuff. Not a fan of skiing and snowboarding? Consider taking a day trip to one of these family-friendly sledding and tubing spots nearby. Most are just a couple hours away so you can come back and have time for drinks and a leisurely dip in your hotel hot tub.
The Summit at Snoqualmie
Snoqualmie Pass, WA
About 1 1/2 hours southeast of Everett is the Summit at Snoqualmie which has an awesome tubing hill complete with high-grade tubes and a comfy lodge to warm your cheeks after racing down their snowy hills. Choose from six different two-hour sessions a day, the first starting at 9 a.m. and the last at 8:15 p.m. Tickets start at $22-$25 for adults (13 years of age or older) and $20-$23 for six to 12-year-olds.

3600 Suncadia Trail
Cle Elum, WA
Two hours southeast of Everett lays Suncadia Resort, a hidden gem complete with cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, a rope tow tubing hill, ice skating, and festive sleigh rides. Whether or not the tubing is open depends on the weather, but when the snow hits it is open Saturday and Sunday with four sessions each day, the first starting at 8 a.m. and the last starting at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 each for all ages.
Mount Rainier National Park

If you’re hoping for some free-form sledding, 2 1/2 hours south of Everett is one of Washington’s prized landmarks, Mount Rainier National Park. Bring your sledding and tubing gear and enjoy the park’s hills while viewing the gorgeous landscape around you. Make sure to check the road conditions (website) before heading out, and the park requests that only "soft" sliding devices are used (flexible sleds, inner tubes, and saucers) but no hard toboggans or runner sleds.

Leavenworth Ski Hill

Located two hours east of Everett, Leavenworth’s Winter Sports Club hosts a ton of fun activities, including a 100-foot long sledding hill complete with a rope tow to get you back up to the top. Each session lasts 90 minutes and starts as soon as tickets are purchased. Tickets are $20 each must be purchased in person at the window, so grab your buddies and get going before they sell out! BTW children eight and under are not permitted on the hill. Sorry kids.
After being on the hill all day, climb back down into Leavenworth’s Bavarian-style village and enjoy food, shopping, and plenty of fun photo opportunities before heading back to Everett for dinner and beers.
